First of all, I wanted to say thank you for participating and being a part of the Oceanway Ride and supporting our Charity Mates4Mates.

With only a few days until the Jewel Residences Oceanway Ride, the countdown is on and it is time to make sure you are organised and prepped for the event.

COURSE INFORMATION

The Sea to the Summit Gran Fondo (102km)

Starting under the world famous Surfers Paradise sign, participants will begin their 102km journey to the Eagle Highs Hotel before returning to Surfers Paradise.

The ride will not only challenge many but will put the Gold Coast Hinterland on the world stage for its beauty and incredible cycling courses and will no doubt be the most self rewarding experience that any cycling enthusiast will experience.

You will need to exercise caution as this is a hilly course.. lots of hills so lots of inclines and declines !!

Ultimate Oceanway Ride presented by Staminade (55km)

The Ultimate Oceanway Ride is a beautiful ride starting under the Surfers Paradise sign and heading south to Point Danger.

This is a relatively flat ride except for a few steep inclines at Burleigh Hill, Hill Street Coolangatta and the final 200m has a very steep incline up to Captain Cooks Memorial Park at Point Danger (turn around point). It’s a little tough but the view from the top will be worth it.

You will need to exercise caution as it is a steep decline back down the hill. If you don’t want to tackle the hills, you can turnaround at Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Surf Lifesaving Club just before the Hill Street turnoff.

We also ask that you take caution near Palm Beach Currumbin State School on Thrower Drive as the morning markets will be on and there will be some heavy vehicle activity in the area.

Border Security be present for both Oceanway Ride and Sea to the Summit to support our participants along the courses, Qualified Medical Teams will provide medical support and a dedicated mobile mechanic who will provide technical support for those that need it. There will also be Police Officers present at all times on both courses.

Little Legs Criterium

The Little Legs Criterium is a 250m course conducted on closed road circuit, starting and finishing under the Surfers Paradise sign.

Our little ones are in for a special treat with the “Voice of Cycling”, Phil Liggett commentating and encouraging them along the way.

All our Little Leg participants will be awarded a Gold Medal for their efforts.
